Casa dos Gorrie e Barker is a charming country villa secluded within it's own grounds in the unspoilt valley of Larga Vista with terrific views of the surrounding countryside.

The villa comprises a newly modernised, fully fitted large kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and gas cooker etc. The washing machine is in a separate laundry room.

Through the kitchen is a small attractive hall off which is a new bathroom. The hall leads into a good sized sitting room from where you can go through to the dining room, the sitting room and dining room have patio doors onto a lovely shady terrace that runs along the front of the house which is ideal for 'al fresco eating'! Both rooms are furnished with bright rugs and modern furniture the sitting room having a particularly comfortable large sofa! There is a log burning fire for winter guests and digital TV, video and a CD player.

The other door out of the sitting room leads to the three double bedrooms. The one on the right is the right is the blue room ideal for children with 2 single beds and matching duvet covers and curtains. The bedroom on the left is the red room which also has two single beds with matching red based curtains and duvet covers - it is bigger than the blue room and has a bathroom en suite. The main bedroom is the green room with green rugs, duvet covers, etc. It has a double bed, separate dressing table room and patio doors that open onto the terrace, especially good for an early morning stroll around the garden in the sunshine! The en suite bathroom is large with a separate shower.

There are electric fans in all the bedrooms for the summer and heaters plus electric blankets on all beds for the winter.

The pool is a good size with a useful sunbathing area. Plenty of sun beds, big double built in BBQ and a bar area with fridge.

There is a sun terrace on top of the house which enjoys stunning views of the surrounding hills and countryside and is the perfect spot for a glass of wine as the sun sets!

The garden is delightful with a pond and a little fountain at the front. The orchard is full of different fruit trees and guests may help themselves to any fruit that is ripe during their stay.

Rosa the maid comes in 1 or 2 mornings a week but may be prepared to do more hours by arrangement with tenants. The garden is looked after locally.

The resort of Albufeira with shops, supermarkets and beaches is within 25 minutes drive to the south as are numerous other beaches and golf courses. The new Algarve shopping complex with a huge Continente hypermarket is a 20 minute drive on E125 through Guia. The lively market town of Messines and historical town of Silves are both nearby to the north. there are three very good local restaurants within a five minute drive from the villa.

The villa has an English manager, Mrs. Jean Branscombe, who lives nearby. she is at your service and will be pleased to help with any queries or problems. She also grows delicious fruit and vegetables which she sells locally. Jean will arrange a food parcel on arrival unless advised otherwise.
